The sad news is that Wooden Overcoats is coming to an end, for numerous reasons (mainly logistical). It's been a truly life-changing experience for me: my first sitcom, my first experiences as a script editor, and really the first time my work has reached a wide audience. Our listeners are a dedicated bunch, writing in with warm messages of appreciation, artwork, and fanfiction. Wooden Overcoats could easily have been the tiniest pebble in the ocean but it's our listeners who ensured we've been able to carry on as long as we have. I'll always be grateful to them and I hope to go on to write many more shows of a similar vintage.
With that in mind, we simply couldn't bid farewell to the show without doing it properly. We will shortly be fundraising for Wooden Overcoats Season Four, to be produced and released in 2020. I'm not allowed to give any details away at present, beyond the fact that we've assembled our writers, and have already recorded a new series of our Funn Fragments. These are original scenes starring the main cast and written by artistes who've not written for us before, released alongside our campaign in October and November. Expect to see more news very shortly. It may be our last season, but we're going out with a bang. |
