Considering we're a collection of independent creatives looking for cash down the back of the sofa, whilst the BBC is... well, looking for cash down the back of a much, much bigger sofa, we're pretty chuffed to have got this far. Means we're even more pumped to make a bid for the top spot next year, and in the mean time we'll continue to nip at Auntie Beeb's heels whilst we make plans for our third season!
Last night marked the inaugural and extremely well attended British Podcast Awards, organised by Matt Hill and Matt Deegan and held at the Platform Theatre in London. The Wooden Overcoats crew were delighted to show up, having been nominated for Best Fiction alongside Ben Partridge's The Beef and Dairy Network (itself the well deserved Gold winner of the Best Comedy Award) and the BBC's drama Tracks. And whilst it would have been entirely lovely to nab the Gold, we're pleased with a respectable Silver which places us as the best UK fiction podcast not made by the BBC!
