This is going to be a very special play for me: not only do I really think it's the best script I've yet written, but I've also been especially blessed to have a quartet of immensely gifted comic actors inhabiting the roles, all of whom have had prior experience of performing my work. Playing the titular awkward ghost Jo is Beth Eyre, better known as the highly strung Antigone Funn in Wooden Overcoats, bringing her considerable talents to bear upon the life of a very peculiar but sympathetic character. The object of her obsession is the increasingly cuddly Peter Wicks (Monster Hunters) as Robin, and ruining her life is the rowdy and ridiculous Sarah Sorensen (Timothy) as Linda. And bringing his trademark charm, wit and warmth to the role of ghostly mentor Brett is Ed Sheridan (Games of Love and Chance) whom I met back in 2006 when we worked together on my very first stage show!
And this play could not have happened without the ceaseless support of director and producer Tom Crowley, who's only gone and written a fabulous article about the play which is far more interesting than anything I could say about it.
Tickets are available for all five performances, Wed 27th to Sun 31st, and there's a 2 for 1 deal on Wednesday! Please do come along. It's got laughter and tears and ghosts. You'll love it.
